RELIGIOUS AND MYTHOLOGICAL VOCABULARY OF THE DICTIONARY BY M. AL-KASHGARI "D?W?NU L-LU?AT AL-TURK" ("COMPENDIUM OF THE LANGUAGES OF THE TURKS")

Abstract. The dictionary by M. al-Kashgari "D?w?nu l-Lu?at al-Turk" ("Compendium of the languages of the Turks") is the richest source to study the history, culture and everyday life of the modern Turkic languages to which the Bashkir language refers. The compendium fixes a great number of lexical units, the author describes the word-formative means in the Turkic languages; the poetical and folkloric materials of the time serve as examples. The researcher conducted a comprehensive study of the religious and mythological vocabulary of the ancient monument, provided comparative analysis of the ancient word-form functioning in the modern Bashkir language.
