THE PECULIARITIES OF LEXICAL REPRESENTATION OF THE WAYS OF EXPRESSING JOY IN THE BRITISH AND THE AMERICAN AUTHORS’ WORKS

Abstract. The paper studies the ways of lexical representation of joy in the American (Am) and the British (Br) English. Joy is one of the dominant human emotions, possessing certain linguistic-cultural characteristics, ethnic specificity and special ways of linguistic expression. The objective of the study is a comparison of lexical means, nominating the emotions of joy through the analysis of the American and the British authors’ literary texts and dictionaries.
