AUTHOR’S VOICE IN PERSONAL DIARIES: A. GIDE, P. CLAUDEL, F. MAURIAC

Abstract. The article analyzes the peculiarities of personal diaries of the outstanding French writers-contemporaries: A. Gide, P. Claudel and F. Mauriac. The two latter authors are generally considered as the basically religious writers while Gide was, first of all, the follower of author’s absolute freedom doctrine, which made many of his works scandalous. All the mentioned authors have the different approaches to life and creation, and this conclusion is justified by their choice of particular themes and forms of diary notes.
