THE BARGA MONGOLS’ FABULOUS EPOS: ON A CERTAIN ALL-MONGOLIAN PLOT

Abstract. The article aims to examine the fabulous tradition of Barga Mongols, the small Mongolian-speaking ethnos of China. The analysis of one popular and widespread fabulous text identified almost identical story-line among the Barga Mongols, Buryats and the Khalkha Mongols which can testify for the previous existence of a unified fabulous fund accumulating the tradition under the co-existence of the related nations within a certain territory. Moreover, there are parallels in the world folklore which testifies for the typology of story-lines.
