FUNCTIONAL NATURE OF THE TRANSLATION METHOD IN V. A. BOGORODITSKY’S LINGUISTIC CONCEPTION

Abstract. The article examines translation techniques in relation to V. A. Bogoroditsky’s linguistic conception. The analysis of the components of his grammatical system indicated the importance of translation method in grammar. Relying on the scientist’s works the author shows the relevance of this principle in foreign language teaching. Considering the equivalence principle is of special importance while translating terms. The importance of translation method represented in V. A. Bogoroditsky’s theory manifests itself while comparing the texts of different stylistic orientation, the examples of special literature and fiction.
