ON SEMANTIC TYPES OF METAPHORS IN THE YAKUT LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article touches on the poorly investigated theme of the Yakut linguistics - metaphor. The paper analyzes the most frequent semantic types of metaphors - motivated, syncretic, associative and orientation metaphors in the Yakut language. Relying on the traditional classification of the semantic types of metaphors the author provides examples from the Yakut language and briefly describes their semantic meaning.
