COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF BRITISH AND AMERICAN SOMATIC PHRASEOLOGISMS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of revealing national-cultural information in the semantics of phraseologisms belonging to the British and American variants of the English language. On the basis of the comparative analysis of somatic phraseologisms, one of the most numerous groups in the British and American phraseology, two basic types of intervariant semantic relations are differentiated and described. Special attention is paid to the factors showing the national-cultural information they contain.
