ON THE QUESTION OF AUTHOR’S PERSONAL PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the phraseological nicknames of the characters of the English-language fiction. The author studies the dual nature of these units that combine the properties of proper names and phraseological units of the English language. The prerequisites for the appearance of such nicknames are considered, their structural, semantic and functional peculiarities are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the nominative characteristics underlying the emergence of the units of such type. The ways of further research are outlined, the prospects of work with art works of different eras and movements are identified.
