FORMATION OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN’S INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE BY THE MATERIAL OF W. DISNEY’S CARTOONS

Abstract. The article considers the problem of formation of primary school children’s intercultural competence in foreign language lessons. Particular attention is paid to the discussion of possible solutions to this problem by the material of W. Disney’s cartoons. The authors analyze the different definitions of intercultural competence and its constituent components, as well as the role of authentic materials in teaching intercultural communication.
