Abstract. The article discovers the role of a project method in realization of the principal approaches to education at the foreign language lessons - communicative, competence-based and person-oriented, combining their features. The author focuses on analyzing such features of the mentioned approaches which are the basic ones for the project method in foreign language teaching.
