ON THE QUESTION OF LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF EPIC TEXTS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of the linguistic specificity of Tuvinian heroic stories. The epic formulae contained in the beginnings of Tuvinian stories are analyzed. The author asserts that they are the form of representation of the special world view, the main components of which are the concepts of time and space. Considerable attention is paid to the lexical material which verbalizes these concepts. At the syntactic level it is revealed that for the analyzed formulae the universal construction is the one based on parallelism, which reinforces the syntactic order of epic text. The author concludes that the epic formulae in the Tuvinian heroic stories are characterized by the constancy of the lexical content and different by the uniformity of syntactic construction.
