TRANSCRIPTION AND TRANSLITERATION AS THE WAYS OF THE LEXICAL BASE AUGMENTATION OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE MODERN ENGLISH PROSE)

Abstract. The article deals with the penetration of new words in the Russian language usage through the modern English prose by means of such translation transformations as transcription and transliteration. These words begin to participate in word-formative processes of the Russian language, and give accuracy of expression, emotionally expressive and stylistic diversity to the translation. The authors conclude that the used translation techniques are an effective way to augment the lexical base of the Russian language.
