CODE-SWITCHING IN DISCOURSE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER

Abstract. The article considers the oral educational discourse of a foreign language lesson at a higher educational institution and code-switching as an integral part of any bilingual communication. Studying the transcribed corpus of discourse fragments from English language practical lessons, the author creates the speech portraits of two teachers and carries out a structural and functional analysis of code-switching in the discourse of teachers, highlighting and describing the characteristics of code-switching typical of all foreign language teachers.
