SYNTAGMATIC AND PARADIGMATIC APPROACH TO STUDYING THE SIGNS OF THE LINGUO-SEMIOTIC SYSTEM (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract. The article examines the problem of the semiotic systems functioning from the viewpoint of the category of syntagmatics and paradigmatics. The signs of the lexico-semantic system of the novel by John Fowles come out as the connotationally marked lexemes which form the subsystems-languages consisting of the signs of the certain categorial affiliation (language of culture, language of charactonymes, the system of loan words, language of transition, language of antonymy, language of nature).
