THE PECULIARITIES OF THE TRANSLATION OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL TEXTS ON THE SUBJECT OF EARTH SCIENCE IN THE FRAMEWORK OF TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article examines the questions of translation of scientific and technical texts from a foreign language into Russian while teaching a foreign language: the student’s formation of translation competency, the conditions of exercising a correct translation, the interaction of linguistic, sociocultural and professionally-oriented knowledge in the framework of a translation activity. The examples of difficulties while translating foreign texts into Russian on the subject of Earth science are given.
