Abstract. The article is devoted to the reconstruction of the various formats of knowledge in metaphors that represent an opinion on the quantitative aspect of existence. The analysis of factual material shows that the linguistic reality is replete with examples of the manifestation of the metaphor of quantity, "nourishing" the knowledge of almost every sphere of human activity, whether it is history, literature, military science, architecture, religion, exact sciences.
