Abstract. The article touches upon the development of students' creative abilities while studying the Kazakh language. Special attention is paid to the use of computer educational programmes. Three stages of students' creativity development (detection, formation, assessment and summarizing) are identified. The experience of Karaganda State Technical University teachers is analyzed.
