BIBLICAL LEGENDS IN FOLKLORE OF THE OLD BELIEVERS IN THE SOUTH TRANS-URALS

Abstract. The article considers the folklore versions of the Biblical legends which were fixed in the confessional sphere of the Old Believers in the South Trans-Urals. The aetiologic legends appealing to the Holy Scriptures are studied. The mechanisms of interaction of oral and written traditions determining the specifics of hermeneutics texts - interpretations of Bible - are revealed.
