PROBLEMS OF TRANSLATION OF CULTURE-SPECIFIC VOCABULARY INTO GERMAN (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE STORY BY B. AKUNIN "JACK OF SPADES")

Abstract. The article considers the problem of literary translation of lexical lacunas. The translation of culture-specific vocabulary requires pragmatic and cross-cultural adaptation, as far as the ideological and emotional influence on a recipient and transference of national colouring of the original are achieved by different linguistic means in different cultures. Under comparative and contrastive analysis of B. Akunin’s story "Jack of Spades" and its translation into German ("Russian poker" / "Russisches Poker") the authors make conclusions about translator’s strategy and translator’s methods for solving the problem of lexical lacunarity.
