ROLE OF PERFORMATIVES IN REPRESENTATION OF OPTATIVE MODALITY OF GOOD WISHES AND CURSES

Abstract. The article studies the category of optative modality in oral and speech genres in different linguo-cultures. The author considers the functioning of performative verbs in the texts of good wishes and curses of the Russian and Kabardino-Circassian languages, paying attention to their common and different semantic and structural organizations. The possibility of considering performative verbs as the markers of optative modality is emphasized.
