LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF SPANGLISH FUNCTIONING IN MEDIA-TEXTS

Abstract. The article topicality is based on the intensified growth of migration flows number to the USA from the countries of Latin America. The article shows the mechanisms of the Spanglish bilingual speech-making, which becomes a more and more widespread phenomenon in the speech of the Americans of Latin American origin. The complex structure of this phenomenon is conditioned by the fact that Spanglish includes different phenomena of language variability in bilinguals’ speech: code switching, adoption and loan translation. The aim of the article is the analysis of these phenomena by the example of the Spanish language media texts produced on radio and television in the USA. The author gives special significance to the definition of Spanglish status in the paradigm language – speech on the basis of the linguistic analysis done.
