ANGLICISMS IN EUPHEMISTIC FUNCTION IN THE ITALIAN ECONOMIC PRINT MEDIA AS AN INDICATOR OF CULTURAL INTERACTION

Abstract. The article examines the expansion of anglicisms in the modern Italian economic print media and analyzes one of the basic reasons for this process - using this vocabulary in the function of euphemisms. Euphemy as a very flexible linguistic phenomenon can mitigate, veil the negative meaning of a word, as well as observe the norms of tact, political correctness and manipulate the consciousness of a recipient. As far as euphemy is not only cognitive and discursive but also sociocultural phenomenon, the tendency to use Anglicisms in the Italian print media is directly associated with the economic processes taking place in the country, Europe and world on the whole.
