Abstract. The article considers the functioning of internationalisms of the English origin in everyday discourse by the example of youth slang. It is noted that the completion of youth slang with new vocabulary involving internationalisms is conditioned by the pragmatic tasks of jargon speakers. It is ascertained that the fact of using internationalisms in jargon contributes to the pragmatic implementation of these lexical units.
