PERIPHRASTIC NOMINATIONS OF PERSON IN THE NOVEL "THE TWELVE CHAIRS" BY I. ILF AND E. PETROV

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of periphrastic nomination in the language of a work of art. The paper analyzes the views of researchers on the classification of paraphrases, and gives the typological description of paraphrases denoting a person. Particular attention is paid to the semantic classification of periphrastic units used by the authors of the novel "The Twelve Chairs". The conclusion is made about the type of paraphrases inherent to the satirical prose work and their role in the text.
