INADEQUATE UNDERSTANDING OF STATEMENT AS STYLISTIC DEVICE OF COMIC

Abstract. The article reveals the mechanism of comic effect that occurs on the basis of the inadequate understanding of dialogue participant’s statement which is simulated by the text author. Basing on the material of anecdotes and comic dialogues the reasons of this lack of understanding associated with the deviation from linguo-pragmatic postulates in communication initiator’s speech or the mental state and the level of communicative competence of message recipient are revealed.
