MEANS OF CREATING SPEECH PORTRAIT CHARACTERISTIC OF PERSONAGES IN R. N. MITRA’S CREATIVE WORKS

Abstract. The authors consider the means of creating speech portrait characteristic of personages through the use of lexical units of different linguistic registers, the use of proper names from history, mythology and literature by a hero, and conduct the analysis of heroes’ speech portrait characteristic functions by the specific examples from the series of detective novels of contemporary American writer R. N. Mitra.
