SCENARIOS OF PRAGMATIC SITUATION "MOCKERY" IN BRITISH LINGUO-CULTURE

Abstract. The author studies "mockery" as the specific manifestation of a category of comic in the English language, considers the situation of "mockery" within the framework of pragmatic approach, analyzes communicants’ relations, speech intentions, and the surrounding, and basing on the obtained data puts forward the proposition that there are two contrasting scenarios of implementing the pragmatic situation "mockery" in the British linguo-culture.
