Abstract. The author reveals the linguistic and methodological conditions of Russian language teacher formation as linguistic personality by the example of development of his professionally meaningful skill to correct students’ compositions and expositions, and substantiates the components of this skill such as the acquirement of speech studies knowledge and practical actions required for the performance of such work.
