Abstract. The author elaborates the problem of borrowings assimilation under the conditions of the Russian-language bilingualism of the Tatars. The aim of the article is the study of differences in mastering foreign vocabulary by the Russian national population and the Russian-speaking Tartars-bilinguals. The object is the gender-marked unit OMBUDSMAN borrowed in the XXI st century from English into Russian. The author uses a variety of methods: questionnaires, comparative-contrastive method, the method of definitional analysis, classification method, the techniques of experimental data statistical analysis.
