PSYCHOLOGICAL INTERPRETATION OF A. P. CHEKHOV’S NARRATIVE "A BORING STORY" IN ENGLISH CULTURE OF THE 1910-1920S

Abstract. The author reveals the peculiarities of the perception of A. P. Chekhov’s narrative "A Boring Story" in the English-speaking world, basing on the material of the first English monograph about the writer and two translations of his work, and pays special attention to the embodiment of the original work psychological context and its peculiar implementation at the lexical and punctuation levels of translated texts and in foreign literary criticism research.
