Precedent Name Жириновский/Zhirinovsky in the Foreign and Russian Media: Comparative Analysis

Abstract. The aim of the study is to identify the features of using the precedent name Жириновский/Zhirinovsky in the foreign and Russian media based on the materials of linguistic corpora. The author dwells on using the precedent name in denotative and connotative meanings. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the features of using the precedent name Жириновский/Zhirinovsky in the foreign and Russian media are revealed. As a result of the study, it was determined that a characteristic feature of the foreign and Russian media is the denotative use of the precedent name with the direct reference to the denotation with negative assessment.
