Translation of Means of Emotiveness from English into Russian in the Novel "Me before You" by J. Moyes

Abstract. The article examines the problem of observing principles of equivalence and adequacy as a prerequisite for qualitative literary translation of means of emotiveness from English into Russian. The author describes techniques to translate emotive vocabulary and emotive syntax, analyses the translator’s solutions regarding each particular group of emotives. Scientific originality of the study involves identifying correlation between types of emotives functioning in the English-language literary text and techniques of their translation into Russian.
