BLACK HUMOR IN THE LIGHT OF THEORY OF V. RASKIN AND S. ATTARDO (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH JOKES)

Abstract. The article analyzes the main theses of the semantic theory of V. Ruskin and the general theory of verbal humor of S. Attardo with the aim to reveal the specific criteria that allow determining the belonging of the Russian and English jokes to black humorous discourse. The article considers in detail the most recurrent oppositions of scripts found in the Russian and English black jokes, as well as logical mechanisms that contribute to the achievement of the comic effect.
