COLLOCATION TYPES CLASSIFICATION ACCORDING TO COLLOCATING WORDS NUMBER

Abstract. The author presents collocation types classification according to the number of collocating words in Russian and English, considers it within the framework of combinatorial linguistics, and tells that this criterion divides collocations into: free (with the highest number of collocations), broad (with the lexemes of several lexical-semantic groups), group (with the lexemes of one or two lexical-semantic groups), single (with one or two lexemes), and serial (the collocations of the several series of lexemes with each other) ones.
