Abstract. In the article the attempt to present the basic aspects of the philosophic-linguistic conception of the outstanding medieval scientist and thinker al-Farabi, known in the East as The Second Teacher (after Aristotle) is undertaken. The language person of the scientist and his contribution to the development of the philosophy of language and logical-grammatical researches are analyzed.
