Abstract. The aim of the study is to determine the artistic features of two Renaissance chests from the collection of the Pskov Museum-Reserve, as well as the time and place of their production. The paper considers two works from the collection of the Pskov State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve, i.e. a cassone decorated in the techniques of carving and intarsia and a small chest decorated with flat carvings. The items are considered against a broad historical background, numerous analogies are drawn. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that the author was able to establish that the cassone chest and the small chest decorated with flat carvings had been made in the XV-XVI centuries in Northern Italy. As a result of the study, the two artistic works were added to the number of attributed Italian Renaissance chests, which are currently located in Russian museums.
