Positive and Negative Sides of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract. The study aims to determine features of people’s social life during the pandemic, as well as to assess negative and positive impact of COVID-19 on people and the society. The study is based on empirical data obtained through a sociological survey of people representing different social groups. Scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying, assessing and presenting in a structured fashion specific negative and positive features of social life in the context of the pandemic. As a result, it is proved that there is no sensible and unambiguous response to the consequences of the pandemic in the society yet. A certain social shock from the pandemic continues to this day. The researchers have identified positive and negative aspects of everyday life in the current situation for each of the studied social groups.
