Philosophical Consideration of Modern Social Dance

Abstract. The study aims to shed light on essential features of social dance in the aspect of philosophical anthropology. The article ascertains that social dance is worth taking a closer look, given that it has a great potential for influencing human nature and the society. Scientific novelty of the study lies in considering modern social dance in the philosophical and anthropological aspect. As a result, it was found that social dance is a unique dance phenomenon in the modern society, as it is not limited to the preceding dance types. The article identified ontological features of social dance as an anthropological act which requires space, freedom and determination in order to exist.
