Methodology of Philosophy of Culture as New Approach to Studying Indigenous Cultures of China

Abstract. The paper aims to justify relevance of the philosophical and culturological approach to studying the non-Han Chinese’s cultures. Scientific originality of the study involves justifying the necessity to develop new methodological approaches to studying the non-Han Chinese’s cultures from the viewpoint of philosophy of culture. The research findings are as follows: analysing the West European researchers’ works in the field of culturology and methodology of philosophy of culture, the authors conclude on the necessity to develop philosophical and culturological methodology to study cultural, ethnic, regional identity of the indigenous peoples of China. A new methodological approach makes it possible to reveal specificity of the non-Han Chinese’s cultural self-consciousness.
