Ethnocultural Component in Structure of Everyday Life of the Samara Oblast Peoples

Abstract. The study aims to determine the role that the ethnocultural component plays in the structure of everyday life, using the Samara Oblast peoples as an example. The article is based on materials from a field research conducted in Samara Oblast to collect data on the ethnic groups’ culture. The work reviews a number of ethnocultural sources which characterise different peoples’ national identity, semantic organisation of everyday life. Scientific novelty of the work lies in using new materials of the field research. As a result, the authors have identified dynamics of the ethnocultural component in the structure of everyday life. The article proves that the obstacle to preserving traditions in the studied ethnic groups’ life is a generation gap that accompanies indigenous agrarian cultures transformation into industrial ones.
