Design Strategy and Issues of Realising Tourism Cultural and Creative Products in Northeast China

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to elaborate a design strategy for cultural and creative products to be used in the tourism sector of the North-East of China. Scientific novelty of the work lies in identifying features of local culture of Northeast China, which can be used in a design strategy when developing tourism cultural and creative products. The result of the research amounts to elaborating a design strategy for cultural and creative products with a focus on cultural codes and images of regional culture of Northeast China. The authors determined opportunities of reinvigorating tourism business in northern provinces of the People’s Republic of China, which are provided by production of regionally oriented cultural and creative products.
