Huang Xiaotong’s Conducting Art in the Context of Russian-Chinese Cultural Ties

Abstract. The aim of the research is to determine the features of opera and symphonic creativity and pedagogical principles of Huang Xiaotong in the context of Russian-Chinese cultural ties. The scientific originality of the research lies in the disclosure and systematization of Huang Xiaotong’s musical and pedagogical system of teaching opera and symphony conducting, based on the traditions of the Russian conducting school. As a result of the research, it has been proved that Huang Xiaotong’s pedagogical school has a great influence on the formation of a new generation of Chinese opera and symphony conductors, who interpret symphonic scores of European, Russian and Chinese composers in a new way, more deeply and meaningfully.
