Charlie Parker’s Creative Work as an Example of Innovation in Jazz

Abstract. The paper analyzes Charlie Parker’s creative work in integrity of musical expressive and structural-compositional means and tries to identify to what extent and in what way was his authorial style innovative. The researcher justifies the thesis that Ch. Parker’s creative work contributed to aesthetic transformation of jazz and renovation of its musical language in the middle of the XX century, and herein lies scientific originality of the study. The research findings are as follows: the author reveals Ch. Parker’s contribution to the evolution of jazz from light music, an attribute of mass culture, to artified jazz.
