Abstract. The research objective is as follows: to develop vocal methodology which takes into account the specificity of vocal performance and ensures the full realization of learner’s personal potential. The article examines the basics of teaching music, in particular, vocal performance to gifted children. Scientific originality of the study involves a comprehensive analysis of specificity of teaching vocal performance to gifted children. The research findings are as follows: the authors justify the necessity of a personally oriented approach in teaching vocal performance, describe methodological principles, identify the most efficient methodical techniques.
