Ways of Comprehending the Musical Content of a Piano Work by a Young Musician (by the Example of F. Liszt’s Play "The Alpine Shepherdess")

Abstract. The aim of studying the methodological approaches to comprehending the content of a musical composition is to represent the possibilities of updating the pedagogical practice of primary piano education on the way of developing the performing and, more broadly, the general artistic culture of a student. The scientific originality of the article lies in the comparative study of the application of opposing musicological approaches in the development of musical and, more broadly, artistic thinking of a novice musician. As a result of the study the author identifies the peculiarities of a child’s cognition of the sound and artistic world of a piano work using the above approaches in order to form the foundations of the perception of music and the culture of performance on the instrument.
