Abstract. The aim of the study is to form the foundations of a new progressive worldview of the citizen, focused on the implementation of Russia’s national interests. The scientific originality lies in the understanding of the struggle as the most important worldview principle and the basis of all types of activity. One of the fundamental worldview attitudes is the value of struggle as a principle of any human activity. However, the attitudes towards pacifism, a negative attitude towards struggle, a passive attitude towards life, self-doubt, and pessimism about the future dominate in the Russians’ worldview attitudes. The reasons for such attitudes in history, philosophy, everyday life are analysed and their inconsistency and contradictoriness are proved. Special attention is paid to the analysis of such notions as struggle, labour, war, force. The author concludes that labour and war are forms of struggle and cannot be in relationship of absolute contradiction. The struggle is necessary because it results from a clash of forces. Pacifism, along with tolerance and the struggle for human rights, is used in the struggle between worldviews as a tool to control Russia. As a result, the importance of the formation of the ability to conduct a successful fair struggle in young people is affirmed, which will contribute to the formation of a strong, competitive state.
