American Dream and Superhero’s Image in Comics Culture of the Golden Age

Abstract. The paper shows how the American dream concept is represented in a superhero’s image of the Golden Age of the American comics culture. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in domestic and foreign historical science, the authors analyse interrelation of the Ameri-can dream concept and a superhero’s image in comics culture of the mentioned period. The research fin-dings are as follows: the authors prove that a superhero’s image represents the American national values and components of national identity that are an integral part of the American dream concept.
