Abstract. The article aims to reveal peculiarities of Onega Pomorye cultural landscape as a factor for formation of traditional architecture of the Russian North and Arctic. The research is based on A. B. Permilovskaya’s original methodology for architectural and ethnographic study of wooden architecture objects and historical settlements as objects of cultural heritage. Scientific originality of the paper involves introducing into scientific circulation previously unexplored architectural monuments of the historical settlement Maloshuika of Onega district of Arkhangelsk region. The findings allow concluding that Maloshuika cultural landscape preserved the basic features of traditional Pomorye culture of the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century: typical layout, unique cultic ensemble, architectural complex of civil, household and residential buildings, toponymics and the local residents’ historical memory.
