The Chinese One-Stroke Technique in the Russian Art

Abstract. The Chinese visual art, the valuable heritage of human civilization, influenced considerably the European art. At the same time, the Chinese philosophy of art offered the world a new understanding of the artistic conception - the painter’s thoughts, feelings and wishes were directly represented in pictures. The article analyses the basic principles of the Chinese one-stroke technique and provides examples of how this technique influenced the Russian painters’ creative work. The main differences between the Chinese and European visual arts are considered.
