Abstract. The paper aims to justify reasonability of using the aesthetic evaluation procedure in architectural education. The article considers the process of aesthetic cognition of architecture within the course "Aesthetics of Architecture and Design", emphasizes the necessity to acquire practical experience represented as aesthetic conceptions. Scientific originality of the study involves developing a technique to assimilate architectural environment - aesthetic description of an architectural object. The conducted research allows concluding that the suggested technique helps to consolidate theoretical knowledge in the sphere of aesthetics and promotes harmonious development of a student-architect as an artist and creator broadening their theoretical-cognitive and ideological horizons.
